Beauty captured in time
The beauty of the Himba girl in Namibia is captivating. She has many years ahead of her to make her way in the world. The chief of her Kraal allowed me to take this series of images, when I visited her village in northern Namibia. She wears a necklace of ochre and mud, a traditional adornment, and part of a tribal way of life, that is fast disappearing in Africa. Her sister, too, poses beautifully for me in these portraits.
A boy tends his peregrine falcon in Doha,Qatar. Traditionally dressed, he spends many hours training his falcon. He follows in the time honoured tradition of falconry in this region.
